I'm a basketball junkie, and I like watching good teams play, regardless of the style or tempo they implement. The Spurs are methodical about how they just seem to grind teams down over the course of the game, and also a series.

It's a shame more people don't appreciate good team basketball (which the Spurs personify) on both ends of the floor. I agree they aren't as "fun" to watch as some other teams, but I for one admire there discipline, and there consistency.
I hope in a few years, that my team (the Jazz) can adopt a similar mentality, and win at least one title.

I am like you and love to watch basketball. It has been my favorite sport since I was a little kid.

Somewhere along the way fans got spoiled and forgot that there is more than one way to win a title.

I love the way the Spurs play basketball, they can dominate a game by shutting down the opponent. I admit it isn't always exciting when they are performing poorly on offense. When they are rocking on all cylinders they are exciting. When they play teams that actually push them to score, they become more exciting both offensively and defensively.

I love the fact that they play team basketball and it is never about one guy scoring a gazillion points to win. They make sure that other players have a moment to shine.

Don't worry, the Jazz will be there in a few years. I was impressed with their performance in the playoffs.

Manu Rocks!!!! Go Spurs Go!!!!

Nope not sick of it at all (yes, a Buckeyes fan (born, raised, but now in Texas) even though in Ohio, never had a team so Cavs are coming on late, I adopted the Spurs many years ago :)

Anyways, I think it is just a matter of time that teams, coaches and organizations will realize this is the formula to win a championship. "Practice, practice, we're talking about practice" Iverson. Yeah, Iverson, your an idiot. Trying to sell some records too along with Artest. Kobe, you b* toooo much and the Lakers' fans should say, F* 'em and trade 'em. I am tired of the flashy crap. Want to know why NBA Finals do nothing compared to a Super Bowl, regardless of Market size. If market was so important, why doesnt LA have an NFL team? Ever listen to a Tim Duncan interview
So Tim, you just scored your career high points and a triple double along the way and scored another MVP and just signed a 100 million to play with the Spurs until your 65. What do you think?
Tim - Well, did you see Parker tonight? He had such a great game and Ginobli was really pulling down some double team. Even Finley was raining 3's from the corner. It was such a great team effort and I am humble to just be a part of it. I am glad they let me play on their team.

Other response (Kobe, AI)- Yeah, I am disappointed that they didnt give me the ball more. I only had 89 points, I should have beaten Wilt's record. And only 100 million, Shaq's contract is more than that and we all know I am better than him. Well, it was a good game but Carmelo took some shots away from me and there were a few more assists that I could have had but no one else was playing. If it weren't for me, there would be no one in the seats. Why don't they just let me be a player-coach and GM? I'd change the team name to the Los Angeles Kobes (The Denver AI's).

I LOVE IT!!!! Go Spurs Go

Being a long time player and a recently new basketball coach (who somehow got lucky and won the city and got to the semifinals in state), I love the style the Spurs play. It's extremely effective, no non-sense style. I personally find the way Golden State played this year kind of chaotic, albeit very entertaining; it's like going to a rodeo and watching a bunch of clowns, entertaining but stupidly entertaining. The Spurs would give you a team effort every time, although some days, they have an awful shooting streak, like Game 3 vs the Jazz. Not only that, these players are humble. They should be the role models of the next generation athletics.

P.S. I'm a Suns fan, and I also do not think the Spurs are dirty. If anything, Amare is dirty for being a dumb b****.

Well if you think they are boring, you must not like winning, cuz the Warriors, Suns and Mavs run and gun, yet how many championships do those teams have in the last 10 years??? ZERO!!! THE GOOSE EGG!!! And who have the Spurs gone through to get those championships??? Everyone of those teams has lost a significant series to the SPURS (minus the Warriors , who I am very fond of because they KILLED the Mavs but GS hasent been good in a while).
So you ask any player in the WORLD what they would rather have, an entertaining team, or three (soon to be 4) championships. I think 99% of players would rather have a ring on each of their fingers for a hand, rather than a shoe contract w/ nike.

I think all basketball is entertaining i personaly don't like the spurs but they aren't at the bottom of my list. This year yeah the spurs should win and hello how can just one team be boring i could say um yeah well the cavs, mavs, pistons spurs.... all are boring but that is a lie no basketball is boring is doesn't matter if its the spurs or the sonics they are the same team maybe different players and different skills but i mean they share the same intrests and do the same thing just like any other sport...i think that people should have a team that they perfer but don't have to say that they are boring.

I'm a Spurs fans since '81, when Mike Mitchell, Jr. Johnny Moore, Mark Olberding, Dave Corsine and the IceMan George Gervin were tearing up Hemisfair arena. They were great, and scored a lot of points, however they ALWAYS were eliminated by the Lakers, Sonics, etc.

The teams of David Robinson before they got Tim Duncan were good too, and exciting, but they NEVER got past the second round either.

This current team since 2003 has been "boring" according to the NBA talking heads, but they do one thing. WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS. Their play might not be flashy but it's not boring to all of us Spurs fans. I hope they win tonight by a score of 21 to 12. Then win the next game 112 to 89. They have that capability. They can outscore in a high scoring game and win in a low scoring game. They dictate that, not the other team.

Screw the rest of the world, we're SPURS FANS, we love them BORING, as long as they are NBA champions once again.

P.S "Go Buckeyes" that was AWESOME

I actually like those comments, what team would you want to be rooting for; one that has a player complaining of minutes, getting into off court trouble, being bashed as a team killer, etc. or the team that is called boring while that boring team is winning 4 championships in 8 seasons? That's exactly how I look at it and love the fact that they are under the radar so those bandwagon fans don't jump on and the haters can only start hating once the playoffs come around.

Egomaniac teams with the "me first" mentality OR the "boring" team that needs no chest pumping and posters in their locker room of them dunking on opposing players? Yes... it's that easy to see why true Spurs fans like myself could care less. It's why the Cavs, Sonics, and others consider the Spurs the model franchise and 'want' to emulate their play into their teams.

GO SPURS!!! 99' 03' 05' 07' "KingKlick"

Yeah, I know. No arrests, no big drug scandals, no in-fighting within the team or management. Boy, I tell ya - it's boring here in "GO FOR FOUR" land.

The biggest distraction from playing basketball we've got is Tony's getting married after the season ends.

I think one of the best players in the league is Steve Nash. He is the "It's not about me." guy. If he needs to pass for the team to win, he'll pass. If he needs to shoot for the team to win, he'll shoot. If he needs to set a pick or take a charge... it's always about what's best for the team.....The SPURS is what happens when you put 5 Steve Nashes on the floor at once.

I'm a Spurs fan, and I disagree with what those people say, but it doesn't really make me mad when they say that. I understand though what they mean, because the Spurs doesn't have a player that grabs attention (ex. kobe bryant, lebron james), or they don't do fancy moves. The Spurs is a dynamic team and they just play good basketball.

Considering they don't say that about the Pistons or the Cavaliers or Utah...which all play using the same style, it's more about constantly getting beat by the Spurs instead of the style of basketball they play. S.A. being a small market it's the equivalent of a large guy being beaten by a very tiny guy.
