If someone wants an abortion, shouldn't their insurance/themself have to pay for it instead of my tax dollars?

i know women have to pay for an abortion, but that doesn't mean the government should help pay for it, since the obviously didn't help pay for my moms chemotherapy

I truly believe that we should not be funding abortions at all. Even if others here are correct and abortions only are 3% of PPH services, there should be a way to not fund the abortions. Do those people realize that the abortions are what make them rich. They are suppose to be non profit and tax exempt so if that is the case why are they receiving so much in grants a year? There are pregnancy help clinics that provide services where abortions are not performed and they receive very little in grants, and also don't have surplus at all, let alone $350 million dollars. They may perform other services, but I can tell you there are more women in there for abortions then anything else. It disgusts me!

Even if you go to planned parenthood it isn't free. Originally planned parenthood was to make it easy to get birth control> I don't know how it got so off track. I don't feel it should be so easy to get an abortion. Why can't they just give the babies up for adoption. One mistake shouldn't cause another. Use birth control or have a baby, what is so hard to understand. I don't believe they are allowed to push abortions, they have to lay down all your choices and you pick. I still don't believe abortion should be a choice under normal circumstances.

The government doesn't pay for abortions. You're about 25 years behind the news on that topic.

You can make the argument that we're indirectly funding abortion, but technically our tax dollars aren't paying for it. Research the Hyde Amendment. PP money goes to things like birth control, etc.
(I do still think it's inappropriate, since PP lobbies so much.)

When I worked for the federal gov't all procedures were covered except for abortion. The money that goes to institutions such as planned parenthood also goes to health care for women as well as education purposes such as birth control.

Beyond that, the government has affirmed abortions legality.

Another misinformed poor soul. Boy I hope you at least skim through the daily newspaper and try to catch up on the headlines before you go out and vote. . .

They are money making institutions for those with no conscience at the expense of us, the tax payer.

I can see some dumb people who know nothing about birth control, but not so freaking many!
