He’s as real as the Hamburglar but don’t be afraid.
I doubt if you’ll see either in any situation other than television or some kind of public event that the police will be around to protect you.
And btw; you might want to speak with a psychologist about your fear of Ronald McDonald and probably clowns in general.

He is just some dude in a suit made to be the mascot for McDonald's and stars in the commercials, kinda like The King is Burger King's mascot.
