yes. its not a cpu. its a computer. the cpu is inside the computer. it is its brain.
um. I can't find hard ware for it. I was looking at your question in reverse. (1 computer - 2 monitors)
I use remote admin 3.0. It can pull off what your thinking about, but not quite exaclty what your think.
you can't have two vid cards pumping 2 signals into one monitor without a conflict, but you can use remote admin to view the other computer's desktop on the one monitor -------- if they are networked

If you are talking about having two desktop computers using the same monitor (and the same keyboard, and mouse) you can use a KVM switch. It's like a Y cable that shares the monitor/keyboard/mouse between two desktops. You just press the switch to go back and forth.

You can get a simple monitor switch box for around $10 that will let you connect up to 4 computers to one monitor, or a fancier KVM switch (keyboard/video/mouse).

yes you can, you need a KVM switch to do that. and you will only need one keyboard and one mouse for both computers, you wont need extra ones. the smallest KVM switch i know off is 4 ports, so you can actually have 4 computers use only one monitor mouse and keyboard

Some newer monitors have both a DVI and ordinary VGA port that you can connect one to each. There are adapters that can be bought to make a VGA (blue) port connect to the DVI (white) port.

Yes, there are switchboxes to change displays between computers. Here are listings I found at Radio Shack.
