What do you think of Vermont leaving the United States

Well let's see.....
Considering the toll it took on American lives on American soil before-I think it's the stupidest most asinine thing I've ever heard. First off, won't happen. Didn't happen the first time, won't happen now, especially in this Modern Age.
If you have any doubts, look at a map of our beloved country, and you will find South Carolina-the originator of this idiotic idea-and every other Southern state-is still in the Union.

I think that if it ever happens, it won't be for a while. From what I have read, they don't have any sort of plan in place on how they would replace the federal funding that the receive.
More than anything, I think that it's more of a shout to our government to smarten up a little and listen to the voice of the people. Granted we get to vote on certain issues, but there is a lot out of our control. That's what Vermont wants back, is their control, and I don't blame them.

Vermont's in the US? Personally I dont really care. I've never been to Vermont, it's practically in Canada, I really dont care that much.

What are they going to do? Join Canada? I'd trade Quebec to the US for Vermont any day. Actually, the US can just have Quebec.

I think Vermont's a tad jealous of the media that the other states are getting, and their "seccession" is just a publicity stunt.

Its a good things for them because the U.S. taxpayers will be kicking in billions in aid, but where the hell are we going to get our syrup and teddy bears?
