Whilst in a way I agree with people who are saying 'they would never return without a child who is missing' I have to think that the money raised by the public could be used in a far more appropriate way instead of using it to jet the parents all over Europe and pay for the accommodation and nursery fees in Portugal - is there not a quicker way to publicise the plight - by using the media in these countries would be far speedier than every week or so leaving Portugal for a brief interview in a different part of Europe. Perhaps some of the money could be used as a reward. Also I should like to mention that all of the publicity could in fact be damaging the chances of Madeleine's safe return, one of the reasons of the abduction may have been 'to order' now that everyone in the whole of Europe has an image of Madeleine who would be prepared to take her on now. One last thing, it would be nice to see the parents spend more time with their twins, I do not attend church but the McCann's do - but not their children!

Why are some people so determined that the family should give up on finding Madeline? I would NEVER, NEVER give up looking for her if she was my daughter! I would use any and all help that was available to me and I would not care if people thought I was doing it to get a free holiday! If at the end of the day I got my daughter back that would be all I wanted!
Now I know people are entitled to their opinions and most people on this site are intelligent SO I set you all a challenge!
Come up with some constructive ways that the family can go about trying to get Madeline back that they have not done already. I mean they were stopped from putting up posters at the airport, so what alternative can you think of to cover this area!
I think personally that they should be offering a ransom for her return, I would!
If they offer the people who took her more than they can get of anyone else for her they may get her back. I know it is not strictly legal but we are not dealing with law abiding citizens here are we!
I just wonder where the police are in their investigations? I mean have any of the psychics come up with anything yet?

the fact is the more publicity the more chance of finding her imagine the news never reported anything whoever has her could walk around in most of europe freely because nobody would know her face
by the way as for holly and jessica holly wells father wrote a book called beyond evil about his daughters murder so he hardly hid in the shadows
and i assume there was a lot of money made
also to say they should be resigning themselves that they wont find her im sure that is a really easy thing to say probably not as easy to do

No, its not a farce at all. I think people are getting upset with the way the McCanns have chosen to get their baby back. People view their attempt to create awareness of Madeleine missing as cheap publicity. One cannot make comparisons with other missing cases as first every case is different & it totally up to the family & friends of the victim to decide what way is best. 5 weeks plus is nothing hon...Missing folks have been found years later. You can't give up hope.

It is just the way the media works now, everything is 24 hour coverage at the start and then deadens off, so the McCanns think this is the only way to carry on with looking for Madeleine.
Eve though they did seem a bit too calm for my liking at the very start. And looking very unlikely to find her now.
No matter what we think lets hope that the little girl has not suffered in any way and is safe wherever she is and may turn up some day

No it's not a farce. Unless you've lost a child of your own, I don't know how you can possibly imagine what they are going through. Just because she went missing in Portugal doesn't mean she couldn't be on "the other side of the world."
And if their travelling the world gives them hope and helps them endure this terrible tragedy, what difference does it make to you?

There is certainly something fishy about the way the McCanns are acting, no one would be travelling the world for free, they would be staying put in the place their child was taken from.
something does not sit right with all this, and Kate McCann does
not look the greiving mother she pretends she is, she looks tired , granted, but it's the McCanns selfishness that has brought all this about, I pray to god this wee girl is found safe and well

I am not so sure - I just think they have been given very bad advice and they have been encouraged by the press who didn't have a better story at the time.
Its terrible but the likelihood that this media jamboree has been for nothing (she wont be found) and the parents are forever going to face criticism and accusations wherever they go.

I kind of know what your saying , its a tragic shame they were left in the first place, but this whole thing is fishy but with what i dont know , it just doesnt add up and yes there are cases where other parents where given no help ....
On the other hand i would never give up....just to be a bit judgemental ...yes i know ill get lynched, but i would never have left them in the first place, im praying she will be found i dont get how a person can just dissapear, but i would never give up not until i was served with the evidence in front of my eyes......not sure i could stomach leaving the other two though and though its only my opinion , rather than actually travelling the world , id be begging tv stations to run adverts world wide and poster campaigns in pubs clubs corner shops anything , but i dont think they need to travel the world to do that i feel with all the support they have someone somwhere would do it for them ....
just to end though im shocked that they think no one is judging them or saying they were irresponsible ......
i really hope for the little ones sake she is found though and i personally would never give up ...

mate, this is one super hyped media circus cultervated by greed, control and attention.
the news today (11/6) showed them in Morocco waving to children like they were Posh and Becks!!!!
now, you tell me, if any relation never mind your own child has dissapeared from the face of the earth, would you court publicity like that?
the only thing down for these two is when the sh*t finally does hit the fan, they will know about it. the press will use them to sell papers by turning against them, just as they play for them now.
most poeple in the media know that. its only those with dignity (Sara Payne and the like) that have escaped that, the McCanns would have been treated this way, had they not become a circus.
