Sounds like a very nice set up to me and not at all over crowded. In fact, I would say you have room for some more fish personally. I would add a few cory catfish and possibly a small school of another type of tetra or two.
Unless you are prepared to take all of the steps needed to maintain live plants (additional lighting, fertilizers, etc) you will be better off using good fake plants. Live plants certainly are attractive and add a few benefits for the tank, but they are at least as hard to care for as the fish to be totally honest with you.

I'd recommend 2 more danios. 3 is the minimum for schooling fish, 5 is much better and 2 more won't put much stress on your bioload.
The bubble curtain might actually be a bit much, just keep an eye on how strong the air flow is and how the fish are handling it. It will probably be fine.
Live plants would be better if you can keep them alive. Not everyone can. Research your plant needs before you choose them, it's not just a matter of throwing something in the gravel and hoping it will live. Plastic plants are better than dieing plants.
Overall though, it sounds great :-)

Make sure to increase your danios to a minimum of 5! Their frenetic behavior is actually a form of aggression and if they aren't kept to normal schooling patterns, they start to pick at each other (it was all fun and games until one of my gold danios lost an EYE and that was at 4 danios). So really..minimum is 5, preferably 6.
Neon tetras are very shy and do need a group of at least 8. Be warned though: your danios will be very fast (ours were nicknamed "The Crackheads") and may stress out your neons. They are the least hardy of all the tetras, too. You could substitute for the black neon tetra and go with a group of 6. The danios won't bother them.
You could also add a couple of dwarf gourami as your colorful centerpiece fish if you'd like.
Live or fake plants are fine for the selection you've got...your choice. None are plant destroyers or are too delicate to be harmed by plastic plants (some fish get cuts).

Up your shoal of Neon Tetras to a minimum of 8. you could also up your shoal of Danios to 5 or 6. This set up is looking better for your 30 gallon tank then that last set up you asked about. I also agree that the live plants are better.

yep it incredibly is a desirable tank set up. The rainbow shark is a backside dweller, so it incredibly won't over crowd the different 8 swimming fish. EDIT A rainbow shark can't get that extensive! they only arise to 6 inches, so one can't outgrow your tank! i do no longer understand why incredibly everyone seems to be asserting they are going to outgrow it And BRISTLENOSE plecos don't get as super as your universal plecostamus! well-known plecos get approximately 24 inches, yet bristlenose plecos in basic terms get between 2-4 inches. as quickly as returned, no longer likely to outgrow your tank. You tiger barb college is a desirable selection, in reality, the better the school, the fit the fish and the extra possibly they're to college. So i does no longer shrink the selection all the way down to 3, i might pass away it at 6 Gouramis can get territorial, yet a college of tigers can unquestionably carry their very own. I wouldnt replace a ingredient approximately your tank if I have been you. BTW, the single million" of gallon rule is stupid and could by no potential be accompanied. And fish won't in basic terms strengthen as super as their tank enables, it incredibly is a stupid fable. think of putting a human toddler in a field. Or a domestic dog in a small kennel. Will they by no potential outgrow the field or the kennel? of direction they are going to!!! Why are fish any distinctive and you do no longer would desire to attend six weeks. you could desire to probable upload 2-3 fish on monday. Your tank has filtered plenty. all your fish are hardier species and could have not have been given any project. you ought to attend a minimum of a month nevertheless in the previous including your pleco. That way you will possibly be confident there will be a brilliant number of algea for him to consume EDIT2: sure, you're thoroughly positive which includes your SIX INCH shark! besides, maximum rainbows do no longer even hit 6 inches. i might in basic terms upload one million bristlenose if I have been you. Plecos are no longer education fish, and being on my own won't complication them.besides, a pleco isn't in basic terms going to stay on the backside of the tank. anyplace there is glass and algea, the pleco will pass

Those types of fish choice are good. Just make sure to add lots more plants and hiding places to hide in if they feel they feel threatened. Live plants are better than fake plants because live plants will consume phosphate, nitrate, and ammonia.
