I am a direct descendant of the Percy Family, who years ago was one of the most powerful families in England, until one of them tried to assasinate the king. Then they moved to America, which is where I am right now. I want to try to get some of my ancestral homes into my possesion, but the problem is that the current Duke of Northumberland, a member of the Percy Family, is one of the richest men in Britain and therefore owns almost every one of my ancestral homes.

One of my ancestral homes is the second biggest castles in Britain, Alnwick Castle.

If the assassination attempt was decided to be actual, by the King, I doubt you have any claims at all. Also, there probably are statute of limitations; and there are problems hundred, if not thousands of people with claims as valid as yours.

Of course an attorney could look into it, but get one who will give consultation without much of a charge. I personally don't think you have a claim.

Just because you are a member of the family doesn't mean you have any right to the land. Traditionally, a family's home was passed down to the eldest son, though that was never strictly adhered to. Over the past few hundred years, the inheritance has become more a matter of wills and bequests than automatic transfer. So, unless someone was swindled out of his inheritance at some point and you have proof that it would have gone to you otherwise, then you're probably S.O.L.

Wow, you sure are obsessed with this!
This is already the third question you raised about this issue.

I'd recommend turning your attention somewhere else, because there's no chance that you're going to get these titles and estates. There are probably hundreds of people that can lay the same claims. And like you mention yourself, someone else already owns these estates. On what grounds would you evict them/take the property away from them? That branche of the family has obviously stayed in the UK while your ancestors chose to move to a country where nobility isn't a factor.

Good Luck! My family can be traced right through the heart of England all the way back to Richard the Lionhearted. You think they would even let me sit on one of the little thrones? If find a way, let me know!

God save the Queen

Cousins, it is time to take back your country.

sounds like it was rightfully his. Look, do this, go rent Braveheart, declare war on the throne, get a mass of armies on your side, meet with the general out on the battlefield and he'll give you some land. Too. Easy.
