I know it's so unfair...People are just being mean to her, because they're jealous.

Is there a reason you really care? Having said that, I do think in light of what others have done, the sentence is harsh; but it won't hurt if the sentence for EVERYONE who commits the same crime was raised.
However, I'm torn. The judge might feel that the time is right to make an example, that if you "do the crime, you do 'x' time." But, it is only fair to establish that as law BEFORE sentencing; so did the judge legislate from the bench?
Quite frankly, I think any one of us should be able to handle 45 days in confinement. People who commit more harsh crimes, do more time; and I believe I heard it said that California LAW requires that the 45 day sentence will be cut to 30 days. That's a month; ANYBODY can manage this in solitary for a month.
Pity the poor person who is locked up, wrongly convicted for 30 YEARS- and we all know it happens and we've all heard the stories of WHAT happens.

Aare you kidding me?! She was SENTENCED TO 45 Days! The judge originally reduced it to 23 days, but after she pulled her little stunt of "being sick", he pushed it back to 45. By the way, women give BIRTH in prison, so whatever was wrong with Paris could be handled by the prison doctors, that's what they're there for. The truth of the matter is, this whole situation is showing everyone how weak-spirited Paris is. If she had just shut up and served the 23 day reduced sentence none of this would have happened, Instead she tried to be sneaky and squirm her way out of doing the time for the crime she committed (and driving on a suspended license after a DUI conviction is considered a crime). She lied about not knowing her license was suspended in the first place (even though the affidavit she signed was sitting in her glove compartment when she was pulled over!), she's a spoiled little brat who is having her first real taste of reality and realizes that Mommy and Daddy's money can't fix it. Personally, I think it's sad that you have chosen this loser as a role model. Looks and money aren't everything, and she's a prime example of money not buying you class.

The judge that suspended her license should have impounded her car & taken the car keys from her.
That way she couldnt drive at all. Duh!
She doesn't care what the judge says.
They showed her cussing on tv, being mean to photographers & making racist remarks.
She probably doesn't care about your either just your money.
Thats how some rich people become rich, they only care about themselves.
People & customers are nothing more than a little step in a big staircase to success. So don't be suprised when poor people get stomped on by rich people. Crunch!
Where were her so called rich friends when she needed a ride home after drinking? Huh? Huh?
Lets all bow down & worship the celebrities, that walk on us poor people.
They walk on us by providing tv that sucks & guess what ? We still watch it!
We even pay the cable bill who pays the superstars for making this garbage!
Lets all throw money at the rich peoples feet like rose petals.
If you want you can search for her prison address online & then write her a letter.
I found it & I'm not sure if I'll bother writing to her.

Because they knew she would be spoiled at home in a mansion with servants??? How is house arrest under those circumstances punishment? She probably would have been out driving again anyway. I am not so sure about these medical problems either. I think it is a big excuse. Why should she get special treatment because she has money? If you or I got arrested, we would be spending the whole sentence in jail without early release no matter if we had health problems or not. She is just a spoiled little girl that needs to grow up and act like a woman!

Injustice? How the heck is that injustice? She deserves to be thrown in jail because she friggin broke the law by DRUNK DRIVING! I'm tired of all these bratty airheaded celebs buying their way outta punishment. You should get it through your skull that if you were Paris's place do u even think you'd be serving 45 days?? What if you or a friend or family member were driving by and Paris drove right into your car, you could get seriously injured or even get killed! Now does that make any sense to you? Geez people need a reality check....

Waaaaaaaa!!! God forbid poor Paris freakin Hilton has to serve 45 days in a safe cell for something us common folks would get 6 months for. Why she's a celebrity....how i dont know....what the frick did she do to become a celebrity? The Simple Life??...Hello?!!....reality show....acting ability not necessary. Oh yeah...I'm sorry....I forgot. She was in that movie...uh....what was it called? That wax museum movie...yeah....BIG starring part...She's a star!!! Oh....oh...oh...I know!!! I bet you loved her in that other moive she did.....you know, the one where her only line was "slurp....slurp....slurp"? now THAT was great acting and worthy of celebrity status. Why don't you Paris lovers go join her in her hour of need. And while your at her side.....Get a freakin' life!!

TIPS FOR PPL WHO LOOK UP TO PARIS:
if you feel so terrible for her... why don't you go do the same thing paris hilton did (drunk-driving) and then maby you'll have the chance to be with her..... poor airhead Paris... she didn't know she was driving and she didn't know she was drunk either!.
u know... there's plenty of ppl like paris (I mEAN IN JAIL) it is normal for them to suffer from nervous breakdowns. imagine what it would be like if a killer has one... do you think KIND sheriff should let him out? paris, as well as anyone who breaks the law, should pay her debt to society.
