Hi, I'm not trying to blow my own trumpet or anything but I write really good stories (or so I'm told by people who read them) and would love to translate them into my own comic book series. The only thing is, I'm not sure how to go about it. I absolutely will not back down, am prepared to do whatever work is necessary, will make sacrifices, and when I say I want to make my own comic, I mean the real deal, working up there with Marvel or/and DC. I live in Scotland, am 16, don't have that much money (but I get by well enough), and am in pretty high classes (the highest english class). So please, can anyone suggest words of advice on just how I can achieve my dream. I would really appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

You'll need some published work to get in with DC or Marvel. Image will take a look at your work but they want complete comics presented, so you'll have to find an artist to put some visuals with your work. Dark Horse will look at your writing w/o any art. They both have submission guidelines on their web-sites.
After those, there a bunch of indy publishers that will accept submissions. You may want to try googling "independent comic publishers" or something along those lines and see what comes up.
If all else fails, publish the thing yourself...you never know what will catch on, and the sky is the limit in comics.
Good luck & keep writing.

One approach you can take is to write useful letters to the editors at DC. There was a fellow years ago who did that (his name was Guy H. Lillian III, if he's still around -- Hi, Guy!)

There are a million people writing (emailing, these days) criticising how the stories stink or why don't they ever have this one fight that one, oslt. But if you help them out by coming up with ways they can correct errors or keep the continuity going, and things that will be benficial to them, they wil be a lot more likely to look at your submissions than if you say, "Your stories bite, mine are better, here they are, print them!" Like the old saying goes, you get more flies with honey.

go for it. Wendy and Richard Pinney ( W.a.r.p Graphics) produced their own comic book series and made millions on the Elfquest series. The world always needs more comic talent. Find a good artist and produce your own if you get rejected.

I took up a one day class 4 months ago about drawing from that book store downtown. So maybe you could get a schedule from a book store and see how you could sign up also for class. I think the store name is Blizz or something like that.
