Bring pads with you and have a good visit. Periods are normal, so whats the big deal?

Think of it this way - at one time your mom was with your dad and she had periods near him too. He knows all about how it works to be a woman and won't think you're dirty or gross or anything like that.

However, I can understand how it's embarrassing when you're new to it. Tampons are easier to hide than pads, but whatever you use just wrap it up real thick in toilet paper and set it in the trash. This way, you won't be able to see any of it. If you try tampons that don't have applicators (O.B.) you can slide one in your jeans pocket and it won't be visible to the outside. This is what i did in school so that I didn't have to be obvious about carrying a purse or bookbag into the ladies room every time.

I don't like the suggestions to keep your used stuff in a ziploc bag -- what are you going to say when you're walking down the hall with a nasty bag in your hand and you're dad comes around the corner? Ew. Not to mention that after a day or so it will start to smell bad. Gross!

You poor thing! Of course when you're new to something like this it's embarassing, but you're dad knows all about this stuff. Maybe your mom can call him and give him a heads up. If you'd rather him not bring it up to you she can tell him that too, but he should be aware so that he's not caught off guard in case you have an issue that you need to talk to him about or you need more supplies or something like that. At least if your mom tells him what's going on, he will know what's in the trash and not question it and he won't plan a swim day! She can tell him to completely ignore the fact that you will be on your period, but he can be cognizant of it when planning activities so there won't be any akwardness that you yourself will have to explain while you're there on your own!

Bless you for asking and good luck with your dad! You'll get used to this whole business and soon enough it won't be that big of a deal :-)

Either have a plastic bag in your suitcase/bag and put all the dirty pads/tampons in there to take home and throw away. You could also just wrap them up really well tight in toilet paper before you thrown them away. If you do end up throwing them out, burry them deep in the trash that is already in the waste basket so they are hiden. Good luck!

If you a really that worried about them finding out you are haveing your period; take some ziploc bags with you and put the dirty ones in a ziploc and then you can take them out to the garbage can that gets picked up at the curb.
