Raccoons in the middle of the night, especially if they are
fighting with some other animal. They make a terrible racket,
one time it sounded like a kill was being made , all of the
neighborhood was outside late at night with flashlights trying
to find out what was making that terrible , scary noise and it
was raccoons.

any and all. I recently have to hear (God only knows) something in the woods around my house that screams at night. Not a howl mind you, a scream wild like. I like to think it is a screech owl.
