The song has been done many times by various artists, but I only enjoy their versions. ^^

Over the years, I have heard many versions of this song and I alway come back to Jeff's version. From the sigh right at the beginning of the song, I'm sucked in.

In my opinion, the simplicity of Jeff's version, just the guitar and voice, sends shivers down my spine. The raw emotion he puts into it is evident, he goes from hopeful to despairing in the span of a verse, and it can almost break your heart.

Jeff Buckley's version trumps Wainwright's..I also prefer the original Leonard Cohen recording

I've never heard of Rufas Wainwright's but I like Jeff Buckley best. Did Leonard Cohen write it. It's beautifly written. It MUST be a Leonard Cohen song.
