here's a quick result list of some parts you'll need.
cheaper than buying them at walmart. and I've never had a problem with any of the companies here.
you'll need at least on wireless router and 1 wireless network card. 1 card per computer.
oh you never said if you had a laptop or not. if you do then you'll need one of these cards instead

If you have the 'Comcast' Internet, it's not 'necessary' to set up a 'wireless' connection to your 'other computer' so that 'both' can be on at the same time ... you can just buy a 'splitter' and cable and hook both of them 'directly' to the cable that way. My husband and I have a 'wireless' connection to the computer that belongs to the man who lives across the hall from us, and his computer is connected to 'Comcast Internet' ... but he's a 'systems administrator' and KNOWS HOW TO SET UP WIRELESS NETWORKS and we 'can't' string a cable 'across the hall' because we can't 'drill holes' in our building ... but since you have both computers in the same household, it will be much 'easier' and easier to 'handle' if you just buy the 'splitter' and cable ... and you can go to ANY good 'computer store' or place that sells computer parts and tell them that you want to 'hook another computer' up to your Internet cable ... they'll know EXACTLY what you'll need, and it will be 'far cheaper' than calling Comcast and having them send an 'installer' to 'sell you' the stuff and hook it up for you.

You'll need a wireless router like Netgear WPN824 or a linksys model. Your new computer will need to have a wireless card as well. Is it a Desktop or Laptop? Most laptops come with wireless 802.11 G now days. Not sure about desktops since it's been a while since I bought a desktop. You can get a wireless card for a desktop, I'm just not sure if they come with them.

you can buy a router and a wireless card from walmart or bestbuy and set it up yourself it walks you through all the steps. Just ask the person in electronics department and you can get both for under $75 from walmart. I bought a Belkin54g and the wireless card.

Buy a good wireless router, such as one from Linksys, D-Link, or Netgear (personally, I own a Linksys WRT54GS and it works really well). Then attatch the router to your cable modem, run the software that came with the wireless router on all computers, and you've got wireless!

All you should have to do is turn the modem off run the ethernet cable that was plugged into the old computer and plug it into the new computer turn on modem and let it come up then turn on the new computer and it should pick up the connection(may ask for user name and password from the first install) then turn off the computer unplug the ethernet and plug back into the router then run another ethernet cable from the router back to the new computer opinions for routers vary almost as their are routers everyone has their favorites.

you need a router, about 50 bucks. Make sure the notebook is wireless, if not you will need a card for it.

Run down to Walmart and pick up a Linksys WTR54G router and follow the instruction. It is painless.
Stay away from USB if possible.
