Contradictions and paradoxes: how do people ensure that they are alone?

It is argued that humans are a social species, yet so many choose to be alone. How would you recognize a person who wants to be alone? What traits or actions would you notice about them?

Humans are social species, take a look around you. Ever notice how everyone follows another every day, just like cattle. One person mows his yard and the whole neighborhood follows suit.

Some people are more independent without a need to follow others. They are the one's letting the grass grow until Wednesday night and then mows it when others are not. Usually, they don't finish school when the rest of the group does, maybe waiting to complete a GED years later. If we were all followers we wouldn't have new ideas and companies, we'd be satisfied with what we have.

There are several ways to determine if someone wants to be alone.
1.The person dose not acknowledge your presents when you walk in the room.
2. They do not make eye contact, and if they do it's not a very pleasant look.
3. They may ask to be alone.
4. They will sit with their back to you and or may have their arms folded in front of them.
5. They may seek out a place that is difficult for others to gain access.
6. They may have a disorder like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
7. They could show being fearful of being in close proximity to others.
8. They may be wearing head phones or seem to be engrossed in reading a book or newspaper.
9. They will immediately move if someone comes near them.
10. They may be naked, covered in blood and screaming. (don't go near this person)

you cant tell if someone needs to be alone. I dont think anyone wants to be alone....they say and they think they want to be alone, but they realy want someone they can talk with, someone who they are comfortable with, the one who will listen to everything they had to say the one who will give them advise and the one who will help them over anything etc.
