you can always go to the site- it should let you do that. or even download it since you do have the key code for it!

I honestly prefer AVG over Norton. For me Norton isn't as good however the way I see it is Norton is a big company meaning MONEY MONEY MONEY! avg is free meaning they just want to help people keep their computers working. I'm going to go with the free and keep my computer good instead of paying a lot for a program that is really not that great....

My dad had norton for years and his computer was always crashing. I have avg and I haven't had any problems in atleast 4 years!

The product key you have is for the OEM installed on your 'puter. When you delete it you lose it. Use your mom's cd to reinstall, don't worry about the SP2 part, it's actually better than what you had. Use your mom's product key for the install, and once installed, use her product key for activation as well. If it is the first time anyone else has used this disc, apart from mom, it should just go through, they usually allow a certain amount of reinstalls per copy. If not you will see a message giving you certain choices, take the automatic phone choice. Follow the instructions carefully, one botchup and you will have to restart from scratch. You will get a toll free number to call, call it and explain what has happened. He will ask you how many computers this OS is on, tell him just your mom's and this one, he will then give you a new activation key, and activate your windows. I've done this a lot, they are very helpful. Good luck mate.

DONT USE NORTON!!!!!
i had norton, with the cd and everything, and when it came time to registere it, the company said that I did not have norton and couldn't regestire my cd, even though I bought it from them.
USE AVG ANTIVIRUS!!! its free and works a lot better then norton.

legally, you would need that disc. Key code is not going to help you.

If you wany free anti-virus, look in the google pack, it has a free norton for 90 days.

Norton anti-virus is terrible crap on two counts: It is not strongly protective and it will slow your system. The rabid Russian wolverine of virus protection is

Kapsersky is astoundingly good (read Web reviews) with a very small system footprint. Add ZoneAlarm as your firewall and you are golden.

if your subscription is still in force then go to nortons website and download the up todate copy and install it then insert your key number to activate it. If your subscription is out of date you will have to pay online
