The answer is always no. Plus you don't want to do that in the first place because 401k plans have annual expenses such as administration and management expenses. IRAs only has custodian fee, which can be eliminated if your IRA accumulated a certain amount of money.

However, you can roll a 401(k) into a Rollover IRA. If you don't contribute into this Rollover IRA, you may be able to move into a new 401(k), if the new employer allows it.

Maybe, but it is not a good idea. You can let the IRA just sit, and then....if you change jobs, you can roll the 401K into the IRA!
Never leave a 401K with a former employer.

The above answer are correct.

You can move a 401k to an IRA, usually after your employment ends, but you cannot move an IRA to a 401k.

401k are company "matches". An IRA is a "Savings Account", not a retirement account like a 401k is meant to be.

Unless the ONLY source of funds in the IRA is a prior employers 401(k) or qualified retirement fund, you can't roll the IRA into a 401(k). If the IRA qualifies, and your new 401(k) accepts rollovers, your payroll department can give you the necessary forms. Because IRAs have the same benefits as a 401(k), and usually have more investment options, I recommend against rolling one into a 401(k).

No. You can go the other way (when you leave an employer who has a 401(k) you can "roll over" your 401(k) balance into an IRA), but you can't move funds into a 401(k) except from your paycheck!

Yes, but your 401(k) plan has to accept the IRA you are transferring. I know you can do the reverse (rollover IRA).
