Thats just the way its drawn. So get over it. Think about how old pokemon was and how little computing they had back then. In animes you cant just have the same eyes for everyone you have to show variation otherwis everyone looks the same. Thats why they were specifically drawn as straight lines.

That's just the way they draw his eyes, there's nothing wrong with them. I think most likely its a joke about the narrowness of asian eyes...in his case, they're so narrow you can't see them!
