If you have a wireless router, you can connect your wii that way because the wii already has a wireless adapter built in. You will need a special usb adapter if you want to connect your computer to your wii. If you already have a wireless adapter, you shouldn't have a problem connecting to your wii. :)

It accepts regular Wi-fi, and the set-up screen lets you chose how to use that.

If you don't have regular Wi-fi, the USB Wi-fi connector is really good. I actually use it for my DS as well, and I get signal all over the house and into the back yard. 25 feet and two doors won't be a problem for it. But remember to adjust your Windows firewall settings! If you don't, it will connect to the computer but won't let you online. The default setting for Windows is to block everything it doesn't do itself.

If you want to use a cord to your USB, Nintendo also sells adapters. With this you can plug your Internet line into the Wii directly. There isn't any other way to run Internet access through the USB slot.

here is a link with everything you need to know about hooking up your wii on-line (there are 3 different ways - all require a broadband connection).

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/online.jsp

There you will find step by step instructions and a troubleshooting guide....

Hope that helps
