Wow, this is a powerful question. How can you rate one animal over another........but here it goes...........
Baby Harp Seals.......The killing of these animals is nothing but shameful and disgusting..........
Whales..........Unless you are an Inuk and depend on these mammals for you existence, it is disgraceful to kill one of these intellegent, caring mammals..........
Wolves...........This goes without saying as we are just driving them out........They need a large area and there are just not that many of those areas left........
Same for Tigers.........They are just being driven to extinction by THEIR terrirories being taken over by, who else, Us..........
There are so many creatures that are being exterminated to the point of extinction........first on my mind is the Califonia Condor.......now extinct, except in captivity!!!!!
All creatures have a right to survive, including humans, but what really is the cost of our existance, or profit.........and that is the sad part........we will exterminate an entire species for profit..........What is my favorite animal that I would protect????????????????????
ALL OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have two answers to this question:
My favorite animal is the cat (i like dogs too)
My favorite wild animals that are already endangered and I would like to protect are Kawala bear, leamers, bush babies, lorisis and the Panda Bear.
I have always loved Pandas and Kawala's. I dont know if kawalas are endangered or not. I think Pandas are just so cute and from what I have seen, they are friendly too.
A bush baby is a really cute animal that lives in Madagacar (so do leamers and lorrisis.) They are small and have big ears and eyes (they are noctornal...like the leamer and the lorrussis.) They are really endangered for two reasons: 1. The forests in Madagascar are getting smaller due to the growing papulation (much like it is here) and, 2, because there is a creature (I forgot what it is called) that looks like (get this) between a dog and a cat (!), that is the largest carniverous mammal in madigascar, that feeds on these animals.

Hi, there are many wild animals i would and do, do my bit to protect but the ONE animal that has to be on the top of my list is the WHITE LION.
They are exstreamly rare. White lions are occasionally encountered in Timbavati, South Africa. Their unusual color is due to a recessive gene. A white lion has a disadvantage when it comes to hunting: it can be given away by its color, unlike the regular lion which blends in with its surroundings. White lions are born almost pure white without the normal camouflaging spots seen in lion cubs. Their color gradually darkens to cream or ivory color (known as blonde). All white lions are now kept in capitvity, as they have become exstint in the wild mainly due to poachers. Although they are occassionally seen in the wild.
Current figures show only approx 70 other White Lions in the world today so far. Four white Lion cubs were born in August 2006 Hereford and Worcester zoo.
A programme by the Global White Lion Protection Trust is to reinstate them in the wild, is still underway. Part of this process is undertaken at the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve in South Africa's Cape Province.

If we are talking about ,in the U.K., it would have to be the hedgehog.
I once found an abandoned baby one in my garage. It's eyes
were still closed and without help it would have died.
When I gave it a bowl of milk, it stuck its head in and blew bubbles. Despite the warning about fleas, (From the PDSA)
I managed to get enough milk down it to survive.
We looked after it until it was quite big and then moved it outside.
The food dish had always been standing on a piece of white
melamine board and until I put that outside also, the hedgehog wouldn't eat its food.
Our Neighbours stepped over the fence and fed it when we were on holiday. Later when we went to check if the food had been eaten, we found that it had invited some friends to eat with it. (They were all much larger than the orphan.)
I'm probably just a soft touch for animals or birds.
P.S. Just thinking, the words "All creatures great and small"
springs to mind.

My fav. animal of all of course the Cheetah. They are already endananged in the wild and would love to help save them. The Cheetah Conservation Fund is a group that is working to save them right now. http://www.cheetah.org/
It would be so fun to volunteer to help them one day. I love this animal!! They are so unique in the way of body design compared to the other wild cats.
Love all cats but cheetah is my very fav. Have 2 pet cats of my own.
Of course we all should do our part in saving all the animals and plants on the planet. Get a pet form a shelter, recycle, plant trees or flower, protect areas where animals live. We can all do that.

My favorite animal is the wolf
alot of wolf species are endangered
There are many reasons why wolves are endangered, Most people used to be afraid of wolves and thought they were dangerous to humans.
For a long time, people would get money for bringing in a dead wolf.
This was called bounty hunting
(between 1850 and 1900 more that a million wolves were killed. In 1907 the call was given for the total extinction of the species.)
People also use to poison wolves, poisoning is probably the main reason there are so few wolves left today.
Today the wolf is starting to come back, but as its population increases so does the conflicts with humans.
There is a great emotional debate about wolf control, some want the wolf destroyed, while others think wolves should never be killed, the answer may be somewhere in the middle of these positions.
Ranchers and Farmers worry that wolves will eat their livestock - cows, sheep, pigs . Today in the areas where farmers and ranchers come into conflict with wolves, there is some killing of problem wolves by the federal government.
In the United States and Canada wolves are for the most part protected from unrestricted hunting, but in others countries such as Russia, and parts of eastern Europe wolf bounties are still paid. More and more wolves and man come into conflict with each other, in poor rural areas of russia for example hunting of deer and other wild game has increased causing competition between man and wolf. With less game to hunt wolves look for other food sources such as domestic sheep and cattle.
I want to change that because wolves should be protected they might be dangerous at times but they are really magestic creatures. One day they might all be gone just like the Thylacine which was another great species that I would have gladly protected if it hadn't become extinct in 1933.
Wolves are a glorious sight and not all of them harm humans
In fact most of them avoid us
I would want to save every endangered animal because they have as much right to be here as us.
Besides we ourselves have proved that wolves arent all that dangerous because we domesticated them and they became dogs.
This is my favorite animal that I hope to one day hope to work with and save many of its kind:
Who wouldn't:
here's why

I would protect the white squirrel. These squirrels are not the albino variety of the regular squirrel. They are a species all unto themselves. They are white and look more rodent like. They have absolutely no camoflague and are an easy target for all predators and poachers. They are extremely territorial and cannot be transferred from one location to another. The reason I know this is because there is a small colony of them living in my parent's yard. They are amazing creatures and very beautiful.

Animals regularly carry seeds of flora or possibly even a tree seed and disperse them places. They consume bugs that could desire to be risky and it is in basic terms the circle of existence each little thing finally leads to a distinctive interior the finished photograph...their manure in all probability facilitates for fertalizer, I study someplace that interior the rainforest in case you do away with one species it may desire to have a risky consequence on the tree extremely if it has culmination from time to time it won't have any fruit because of the fact it has to evolve to a clean replace of no help from even a small element like a gnat which yet another animal eats which yet another one does that facilitates the tree so the others lose the foodchain.

I'd have say the tiger. It's an amazing animal and we've had far too much impact on it's habitat with far to little to help them. I'm also a cat person was a stage hand and animal handler at Marine World's old tiger show so they have a special place with me.

Woodpecker. It takes the male 2 years to build a decent nest (hole in a tree). Many times it is destroyed or stolen before he has a chance to move in with a mate. The numbers are declining rapidly. It eats the very insects that kill trees. The old cartoon "Woody Woodpecker" would just not be the same without real-life critters flying around. (They are beautiful birds).
