Lean ON-- Implies the person cannot stand without support, and may even imply co-dependence

Carry ON-- Seems to say 'keep on truckin' and is not necessarily optimistic. Kinda like just do what you gotta do

Move ON-- Could be interpreted as "give up!"

Hold ON--- Is like you're waiting for rescue

Shine ON-- I do agree is the most optimistic in that it suggests one has the power and light already to make it through whatever challenges him or her.

In my opinion, definitely between carry on and shine on,
but I think I have to go with carry on. The reason why
carry on sounds more optimistic is because shine on
might imply that it is possible to not shine on while
carrying on. To carry on in itself is to shine on with
persistence and without the explicit possibility that
persistence might be ill-placed. After all, why would
someone state carry on if persistence was ill-placed.

SHINE ON. The rest have "connotations" of the negative. & hello? [Outlandish]--I wouldn't even have noticed the thumbs down if you hadn't pointed it out. Shine on is so far the majority of choice. (By the way, I wonder what "gayish" means???) Anyway, lean on--need support, (nothing wrong with that but not "optimistic"); move on--sort of like in-spite-of, but could be a wise choice; hold on--I'm adrift. Shine on is bright of spirit.

I can't help thinking I could better answer this if...I knew where you "are." If you're feeling alone, leaning on might be more realistic than the others. Holding on takes courage, but sometimes better to let go. Which would be moving on, of course. I just don't know what to say.

Shining the light of reason on every problem, obstacle, challenge we face, has to be the source of the most optimism for self and others.

I think it would be "shine on!" It sounds like your in a good place already & should just keep going! The others sound like your not in a good place, but you can try to get there!
