I live in Gloucester so I guess you could say yes to that one!!!! My accent is so strong it's unbelievable. Probably didn't help as a child growing up that my mum is from Bristol and my dad is from Gloucester so I get the lucky combination!! One thing that I have learnt over the years with being 'blessed' with such a strong, harsh accent is that I never ever (major fundamental rule this one) leave a message on ANY answering machine, I sound like Jethro!!!
"I got a brand new combine harvester and I'll give you the key.............................." lol :)

I don't have an accent but my friend does and people make fun of her. It's really mean because she speaks very well except she's from another country.

with the aid of maximum of time-honored college and area of high school I had consistent bullying and teasing, and that i recommend non-provide up from my friends. My psychologist says that's the reason of my tension, melancholy and espresso shallowness subject concerns. I had very few pals for the time of time-honored college and extreme college. i think of maximum young ones get bullied/teased/made exciting of in college and in the playground in some unspecified time sooner or later, that is all an area of starting to be up, yet there is such difficulty as taking issues too far.

yes i have a south London accent when i have been up north people have joked about my voice like the time i said i wanted a bath (s. London accent sounds like barf)
northern types laughed and asked why i wanted to be sick (barf being slang for throwing up)
i have no idea why words like bath, path, laugh sound odd when said with my accent - sound like i'm saying barf. parf, larf

I wouldn't say make fun of. People always tell me that my Spanish accent is evident when I get upset. I don't agree, but I guess I don't hear it.
