SEASON FINALE means that the season is ending and that there will be a new season. SERIES finale means that the whole show is ending. hope this helps!

A season finale is basically the last episode for the season. It would only be the last episode for show if the show wasn't renewed for the next season. In the case of "House", I believe the show will be around for awhile.
Encore broadcasts of season 3 all summer long on Tuesdays at 9 Eastern /8 Central.

Usually there is another season coming. Season finales are just breaks in which the producers stop making the show until the next season.

Season Finale means the last show of the season Series Finale means the series is ending. Though in some cases (i.e. Veronica Mars) They advertised it as the season finale but later we learned it was the series finale as they cancelled (or didn't renew) the show.

Usually a season finale means the program has not ended and will return next season to continue on, however, that is always at the mercy of the network to continue producing the show

Season finale just means that there will be no more new shows over the summer. In about september or october it will start back up again. Series finale is what you have to worry about.
