People have been telling me that I'm wasting away and getting thinner and thinner everyday. As everyday day passes, I eat less and less. No matter how much I force myself to eat, I can't. And if I do eat, I throw up. My cheeck bones appear to be showing a lot and I'm becoming extremely gaunty and bony. I feel weak and sleepy all the time. I don't know what to do. I can't force myself to eat or anything. I'm thinking about seeing a doctor, but I believe I can handle the situation myself. What do you think I should do?

Hun, I'm worried about you. I don't think your anorexic, but I think you may have the start of a disease that could eventually kill you without medical intervention. If your also experiencing loose stools with this type of eating, you may have developed Crohn's Disease. It's alot more common than alot of people know. It may not be that either. But this is definitely a call for medical help and intervention from professionals. Please seek help immediately.

All people with eating disorders think they can handle it themselves and the problem just grows. I had to see a doctor to get back on track with my eating. Sure you're going to feel sleepy all the time and weak since food is how you get the energy to stay awake. Anorexia Nervosa, and Bulimia are eating disorders which involve control issues. Anorexia Nervosa is the control of body weight, by voluntary starving, purging, vomiting, excessive exercise, or other weight control measures. Other control measures can involve diet pills, or diuretics, (water pills). The Anorexia Nervosa involves, low body weight, and low body weight image. It is a complex condition involving psychological, neurobiological, and sociological components. It puts serious strain on many of the body's organs like the heart, liver, kidneys etc. Anorexia Nervosa has a high mortality rate among young females, with 10% of them dying. .

Vitamin deficiencies can cause a lack of appetite and extreme fatigue, which, if you're not doing this on purpose, is highly likely, I've had it happen myself. Just go to the doctors, explain the situation to a T, and make sure he/she knows explicitly that you are not anorexic, that you WANT to gain weight, you just cannot eat. They'll draw blood and put you on supplements, most likely a slow release B complex and iron, maybe even prenatal vitamins. (they're GREAT, even when you're not pregnant.)
And if you find you cant eat large amounts, just eat small amounts many time throughout the day to keep your energy up.

Anorexia has specifically to do with body dysmorphia - you eat less because you perceive a need for change in your body. Since the changes coming over your body are not wanted by you, then it's hard to call this anorexia.

Unwanted weight loss is usually a very alarming sign of hidden disease in your body. You need to schedule an appointment to see a doctor immediately - I would go see an Internal Medicine physician in your area.

First, see your physician promptly to rule out some other serious abnormality causing you not to eat. Persons with anorexia are the most difficult patients to treat in my experience. They have a distorted body image. They deny the seriousness of the disorder. Anorexia can be a fatal disease.

Unless your personal physician has expertise in treating anorexics, he or she should refer you to a reputable eating disorders clinic. The team of experts include psychiatrists and/or psychologists, nutritionists/dieticians, clinical nurse specialists, and a case manager, usually a nurse or physician with expertise in the area.

Don't procrastinate any longer, do this tomorrow (Monday)!

You're definitely not handling the situation well and I suggest you run (not walk) to your physician's office. You are on a dangerous path that can lead to health problems later on. If you can't get in to your doctor tomorrow I strongly urge you to go to the nearest emergency room. Good Luck.

Its best to be monitored by your doctor because at least that way you are keeping in mind that your health counts. If you dont go to the doctor you could only get worse. So make an appoitment to see your dcotor.

I have an eating disorder and I though I could "cure" it by myself but you really cant. Talk to a parent or a teacher that you like. I told my favorite teacher about my eating disorder and she talked to my mom and dad for me. if you think that your parents will be mad, they wont they might be shocked that this could happen to you but they wont be mad. When I tried to do it by myself I was alright for about a week and then I relapsed . So go talk to someone

I think you might want to tell your parents about this. In class recently we talked about this. You definitely should go to your parents, a doctor, or a therapist. Good Luck. I hope you get this resolved.
