When I asked Yahoo some months back why the forum was suspended, the answer I received was that it was being redesigned to allow more varied participation, was that just BS?

Basically. Most of it was because the Yahoo! trolls had too much of a commanding presence and didn't like the truth to doled around on a daily basis.

It got so bad that Yahoo! had to permanently nullify the forums--under the guise of the "redesign".

The good thing was, is that there are fewer trolls now to deal with. :0)

But around the same time when Yahoo News forum was deleted this Yahoo Answer popped up which include News & Current events section.

My guess is this Yahoo Answer might some how become integrated into news discussion. Which kind of make sense. But they're working on something and I don't work at Yahoo so I don't know exactly what.

If you say that's censorship that's pretty broad and vague definition. Much too broad to be applied here. If Yahoo wants to censor news discussions within their websites why would they allow news discussions here in the Yahoo Answers?

not censorship......
not enough skill in idiomatic English to properly moderate a fast moving forum......
