If you have seen the commercials on TV you would know where the smoking ban would be if you lived in England.

no thank god, i hate smokers, i personally cant wait for the new laws coming in, but i heard that councils are being told not to book everyone in the 1st few weeks (omfg, they've had long enough to quit for christ sake) anyway hopefully now i will have less change of dieing from lung cancer due to passive smoking!

Yes I am a smoker and no I am not really prepared but I am not overly anxious either as I don't smoke a great deal at work and will just have to entertain at home as opposed to go to bars. Restaurants - well, I can go without smoking over a meal so that's no problem really either. I just worry about our economy, as if you constrain smokers from pubs etc then people will frequent them less - especially in winter months when they can't huddle in the pub garden to smoke!! But if my habit hurts others (I do think that the case for passive smoking is over-stated though) then I understand why the ban is in place. How about you - do you smoke?

I smoke the odd cigar on special occasions, the rest of my smoking is done in private or with a select group of friends ** cough, cough **
EDIT: Nice to see that many of the answerers haven't even read the question and are asking where the ban is .... BRITONS indicates Great Britain, though it's actually only England & Wales this time, Scotland & Northern Ireland already have bans

I love love love to smoke really i do but I have quit and I hope to remain a nonsmoker it is a stinky expensive and painfully slow suicide. Tho I do sneak a few cigs when I go out and have drinks on occasion it just feels so right and tastes so delicious. I understand about not smoking in public place like restaurants or um schools but really the bars? why not the boring non-smokers can stay home it just wouldn't feel right if my eyes didn't burn from all the smoke and i I didn't come home reeking of cig smoke after a night out with the girls.

Yes, I'm a smoker. I'm from Canada, and we've had the smoking ban for years. You get used to it. No biggy.

I am not a smoker myself. But my mom, brother, and father are. Not to mention prectically every member of my mom's side of the family. I support any kind of smoking ban that is put into place.

Yes I am a smoker. I wish I could quit though. I didn't know there was going to a British ban.
