Pfft. Love is so overrated. People throw the words 'I love you' around so much now a days I'm surprised people care so much. I mean, people say it to their friends all the time, I know people who have been in relationships for like a week and are already sayin 'I love you'. It really depends on the people though, everyone has their own perception of what love is and react to it in different ways.
But then i'm speaking from a more of a teenage point of view. Personally, even a friend saying 'I love you' freaks me out a bit because I myself have yet to come to sort sort of conclusion about what love is whether it be relationship/family/friendship wise, I don't know what it is to love someone because I haven't a clue what the word means.
And I think in relationships, more so serious ones maybe people get freaked out because they're not prepared for 'love' or what love is perceived as. It would be more commonly known as a really strong feeling towards someone, love is that thing that makes you stomach jump and heart beat fast when you see that special someone etc etc. So maybe some people just aren't ready to have this sort of burden put upon them, or maybe they just don't feel as strongly as the person saying it does. But if you do return those feelings then there's no problem is there.
I hope that made some sort of sense, I kinda confused myself a bit.

I'm not sure.
I guess because love is such a strong word, but people throw it around lightly now-a-days.
For example: My best friend's ex said 'I love you' to her the first day the were officially 'together'. But the guy had only known her for like, 2 days before. How can you love someone if you barely know them?

One reason could be b/c they are afraid of commitment. They are not ready for the next step and want to keep going slow for a while. Other reasons may be b/c they are playing that person and when they need to get out they are afraid of hurting them. those are just a few reasons i have seen.

There's so much attatched to them. Three little words can mean the world to some, and scare others so bad that they bolt.

I have no problem with them if it is my kids saying them. If it is someone I have only known a couple of months. . . . .I think they want something and that freaks me out.
