Wireless router is this normal? I thought It would be faster? Is there anything I can do to up it, or should I switch to the lesser package?

You are confusing two different things.

1) The 3Mb/s DSL line is the speed of the internet connection from the DSL modem to Verizons Internet Backbone.

2) The 54Mb/s is the speed of your LAN from the wireless router to the wireless network adapter on your computer.

These speeds are completely normal. The speed of your LAN is 15x faster then your internet connection, why would you want to purchase a DSL lesser package? That would only make your internet speeds slower......

The WiFi in your Laptop is running at 54 Mbps, that is like 700 kilobytes. Your DSL is (slow) but it is like 450+ so ya. There ya go. NOTE: Your upload speed is going to suck, no matter what type of Wifi you have because you have Wifi...

Your package is pretty standard. All your download/uploads should be happening pretty fast. You can always get a higher speed package like 5Mbps or 10Mbps. But most home users would not need that much speeds.

thats the router speed. you are still getting full internet, dont worry. 54 is the fastest for most routers so you are fine. enjoy
