I want to buy this AM2 mobo. Its sweet I love it. The Price now is 79.99 after mail in rebate. Should I buy it now or wait and see if it goes down more? I am afraid it might go back to 120 or 100 again. Opinions?

I get all my parts from here

am2 boards will soon drop drastically. I'm not sure when but it should be within the year. the price definitely will not go up any time soon.

am2 will start to use a 4x4 (quad core) and hypertransport technology setup. its all about bus speed I think. you might want to research hypertransport technology to understand better.

when this happens these regular am2 boards will drop in price for sure. even just the talk of HTT is dropping the prices

do make sure you get some PCI-E x16 slots!!!!!
most am2 boards come with them.
make sure you have some PCI slots (2) for old hardware (nic and sound card)

I myself am in the same boat your in. Just waiting for the right time, but itching to upgrade. I just want to play CRYSIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! whoooo hooo!!!!!

if you really really want it get it now. i suggest though, that you buy this one here

its the same thing with one extra PCI slot although you think 2 is enough you will be surprised when you want a video capture card or a wireless adapter or maybe your NIC card burns out (happens very frequently) you'll need all the extra space you can get. if you are worried if the price will go up in a month it won't, it'll go up in a week but not in a month. in a month it'll be cheaper.
