Hypothetically speaking, what if you had to defend Napoleon? How would you argue your case of sending him to Elba, a place he escaped from before, instead of St. Helena? What would your argument be?

Well apparently you being a teacher has made you completely brain dead to the fact that people just might need help once in a while. firstly, I have to be a lawyer in this project and I don't know the first thing about being a defense attorney so forgive me for that. Secondly, I have been researching this paper for a while now, but I really have no answer for the question that my teacher is asking. So unless you have something valuable to say (bassdog) don't bother posting, because I don't care if you think asking for help is some big crime.

You could try health. By that time Napoleon was seriously ill. Elba had a better weather.
Also, after their second defeat the Napoleon party were truly beaten. Even if Napoleon escaped a second time he would not find the help and enthusiasm he got the first time. They did it once and failed, and lost again a lot of men and money, this time the anti-Napoleon party would not be caught by surprise so easily and would stamp out savagely on any attempt to fire up the French. Especially as the pro-Napoleon were now kept under surveillance, and many of them had been sent in internal exile (there's documentation about that). So, no need to put him so far that it would cost even more money to guard him (try to find the details of his guarding, how many ships, how many men...).

You need to look for the details but I hope it helps.

Try, "How could any one know?" France appeared militarily defeated after Moscow and Leipzig. Napoleon had surrendered and abdicated. The allies were still united and under arms, having cornered him. They had succeeded in restoring Louis XVIII. They took his four-year-old son to complete his upbringing in Vienna. How they miscalculated was not just in his escape, but in his triumphal "march on Paris." It must have seemed a good idea to give him some dignity, the title Emperor of Elba, and a retinue.

Of course, the allies did not make that mistake a second time.

Napoleon had to overcome many obsticles, most importantly, knowing if he should trust his good friend Pedro, and if he should help Pedro become president.
Plus, his extremely intelligent brother Kip, who gave Napoleon many hurdles to jump over, like the time machine they tried. All Napoleon needed was some love, but Lafawnda already had Kip.

My argument is this:

Why would you come on to Yahoo Answers to get your homework done? If you have a paper to write, and you need to formulate your own opinion about something, it really not that hard. Because unless you say something ridiculous like "Napoleon shouldn't have gotten in trouble" and you back your opinion up, then you shouldn't have to worry about what your teacher is going to say. Thats the beauty of opinion papers and essays. Pretty much what it comes down to, is your not going to get something for nothing. If you want me to write you a brilliant essay, you can paypal me $20 and I'll email you an answer. Message me if you want to take the deal.
