it goes after everything including your name as a sort of after thought that you forgot to squeeze in the letter, but in emails it doesn't really it work because you could've just gone in and typed it in the letter!

Means "Post Scriptum". It's in Latin and means "Written After". This means that the P.S. was written on a later time that the rest of the letter.
