regedit, hkey local machine, hardware, description, system, central processor, 0, processor name string, right click, modify

u cant change processor name, but u can change name of comp:

Step 1: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Start' button.

Step 2: With the right mouse button, click on 'My Computer'.

Step 3: With the left mouse button, click on 'Properties'.

Step 4: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Computer Name' tab.

Step 5: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Change...' button.

Step 6: Type a new name in the 'Computer Name' textbox.

Step 7: With the left mouse button, click on the 'OK' button.

A message box appears: 'You must restart this computer for the changes to take effect.'.
Step 8: With the left mouse button, click on the 'OK' button.

The 'System Properties' dialog box reappears, with the 'Computer Name' tab selected.
Step 9: With the left mouse button, click on the 'OK' button.

A message box appears: 'You must restart your computer before the new settings will take effect. Do you want to restart your computer now?'
Step 10: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Yes' button.

u can't. the processor name is based on the Bios information.

go to start menu>run
type regedit
press enter
registry will open
go to hkey_local_mechine(click on + sign beside it)
next go to as following (click on + sign beside that)
hardware
description
system
central prosser
0
you can see some values in the window beside 0
go to 'processor name string'
right click on it
chose modify
give the name you want
click ok

the processor name is generated on a hardware level from the bios. you cannot change it.
