Yes, I think so. he has been successful at so many different positions on the field, including catcher. That, and his dedication to 1 team for his whole career, and whenever he gets to 3000 hits will get him into Cooperstown.

I believe Biggio is a Hall of Famer even if he did not get to 3000 hits. He was an All Star at two different positions, in the top 10 in doubles and the modern day record holder for hit by pitch. In 1998 Biggio became the first player since Tris Speaker to hit 50 doubles and 50 stolen bases in the same season. Biggio may be the last hall of famer to play his entire major league career for one team.

Well, he neither has 3000 hits yet, nor is eligible for the Hall, so the question is phrased awkwardly.

Does Biggio merit Hall election if he reaches 3000 hits? Yes, of course, and realize that he doesn't need the milestone to be worthy. He earned his Hall plaque several years ago, this is just icing the cake. As I cannot imagine he'll try to play in 2008 (or, more to the point, that any team will sign him), we'll have to watch the 2013 ballot.

I hope he hurries up and gets it, because his performance is getting uglier weekly.

I'm hoping he gets the HBP record. He needs four to tie, and at this point ANY method of getting on base would help. I think he's pressing way, way too much for those next 20 hits.

Biggio is definately a future Hall of Famer even with out 3000 hits, his .985 fielding percentage (combined second base, catcher) is excellent. Biggio also has been selected multiple times as an All Star, and has won Gold Gloves and Silver Slugger awards during his career. i would rank Biggio along with Hall of Famers and Future Hall of Famer (IE Robin Yount, Roberto Alomar) Biggio doesnt have any stats that just blow you away but conistency counts that for 20 years he has been a rock steady performer all the time playing for the Astros.

He would deserve it more so than Barry "I'm still growing at 38, my feet and head are way bigger than 5 years ago" Bonds does for having pharmaceutically enhanced home runs.

Oh, beyone doubt he deserves to go in. The only question is: Can he finish on the writers' good side?

A catcher turned 2nd baseman -- and one as great as he was -- who extended his career in the outfield. . .not your common category.

I think he needs a ring but he will get in without it because he is a great person and no scandels.
