Is there any kind of construction going on near your place? Maybe they have been pushed out of their regular living space. Or perhaps they have found a food source & have to go through your yard to get to it.

Is that what in England we call hedgehogs ? If so, don't knock it - they are a gardener's friend as they eat slugs and snails. You're privileged to have them!

because they live somewhere near or on their property. they need to get to their house somehow!
