My friend will be relocating to Angola. Any suggestions for a parting gift? We haven't known each other for long. Any ideas welcome.

Thanks

Some gift (small enough so s/he could take it with him/her) that will serve either as a reminder of your friendship or a town where you live - a picture, a book, some special key chain, some native/ folk handwork, CD of native/ folk music... The list can go on, but you know the person and know what should suit him/her the best.
It is great of you that you think about it!

A co-worker of mine went off to Iraq.

I got him a gift subscription to the local newspaper, so he could stay current with what was happening back home.

He lived through the experience, came back, tahanked me for the thoughtful gift. They got CNN and other national news over there, but my gift was the only news they got from the home they had left, other than random stuff from pen pals.

His whole unit read the newspapers I was sending.

well something that this person may have always wanted or just something from the heart. No matter what you give this person it will be fine it will probably only matter that's it's from you
