I think we have something in common. I suffer from really bad cramps to the point where I have to go to the hospital. It's an excruciating pain that no one wants to feel. I've been suffering from bad cramps since I was 12. I'm been taking yasmin birth control for about a year and it has helped only a little. The pain like it use to be, but I still get cramps. Now my symptoms have changed. I'm moody more than before, I get cramps right before and during my period, and my period is still heavy. When I first got on the pill, the doctor told me my cramps would be gone within 3-6 mos and she said I would have a lighter period. It didn't happen. My suggestion is to try yasmin for a couple of months, but if they don't work for you, let the doctor prescribe you a different kind of birth control.

I took Yasmin several years ago. It is a great bc pill IMO. It got rid of my cramps and moodiness almost completely. My period was very light and I had no pain. I'm not too sure if it helped with acne but it made my face more radiant. It's an anti-androgenic pill which is good news for females. In the book "The Hormonally Vulnerable Woman" yasmin is constantly being brought up as the best bc pill ont eh market.

If by chance the Yasmine doesn't help, then my suggestion is to try Yaz. Yaz is what most women with severe PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) are using. I have very severe PMDD and I began taking Yaz back in October. It has helped the PMDD symptoms very much. Let's put it this way... I was suicidal every month. With the Yaz, I'm not.

I wish you all the best.

I never had to deal with really bad PMS, but I had really heavy flow, that was getting worse with each month. I switched to Yasmin and that completely resolved. I really love Yasmin and I'm glad I made the switch!!!!

I am on this pill, it has worked for me, may not for others.

I had terrible PMS, so much so that I would cry a day before I came on.

Since being on this pill, that has all stopped!

The only worry I have is taking it on time! LOL
