I have to "dumb down" a lot my daily communication in the community where I live.
I am constantly amazed how many people cannot grasp general concepts!
Yes, I do find it annoying!
On the other hand, sometimes things need to be explained to me (especially in working with Government Agencies and their lingo) so I am grateful when I better understand.

It does sort of get on my nerves but not everyone has the same education as I do. When I talk to my boyfriend about the courses I'm taking in college (Early Childhood Education) he always gets a dumb struck look as do I when he talks about the stuff he knows and understands!
Everyone has different interests and education backgrounds so it's understandable that you have to break things down for others!

OMG, yes yes yes. Sometimes when I am just pissy or something, I will look at the person and shake my head and ask how much further do I have to break it down. I mean sometimes I feel like I am talking a different frickin language, so annoying. Oh, thanks for your question.... I got to vent a little of my rage without breaking it down.

I have to do that for a co-worker and it annoys the crap out me! I refuse to talk to her most of the time because she does not understand anything you tell her. what is worse it that she does that to everyone when she does not have to. she will tell me the same thing 3 or 4 times in a conversation, when i understood the first time.

If nobody understands you maybe it's because you aren't being to clear in the first place.
What I get more annoyed about is people trying to sound intelligent by speaking obscurely and using words and terms that the general public doesn't understand.

Generally speaking it doesn't annoy me because if the listener doesn't grasp what I'm talking about it may be for a number of reasons none of which may necessarily be their fault...in fact it could be that I'm not explaining myself properly, so that would be my fault....teaching helps one to understand that.

It has now come to the point with certain people, that I will no longer even bother telling them, I just write it down and if they can't get it still well..... they're on their own

Yes, it's fuc king annoying, especally if you have to explain again cuz they are too stupid to even listen the first time...sometimes i feel like just sticking up my middle finger and screaming "Dipshi t!!!"
