This girl (unattractive by the way) keeps talking to me about her boyfriend all the time. I seriously don't care, and I am not interested in her or her relationship. Me and her just happen to be good old friends, so I like to talk to her. But why is it that she always has to talk about her boyfriend? Actually, many girls do this a lot. I don't understand?!?!?!

People tend to like to talk about 1. Things that make them happy or 2. Things that royally p*ss them off. Maybe a relationship with a significant other is all you two have to talk about or have in common. I have certain work friends that all I can talk with them about is work, and others I can reminice with about the past bcause we grew up together. Her boyfriend maybe the one exciting thing for her that she wants to share info about. I know for me personally, I probably talk about my baby and my husbands reactions to fatherhood way too much. This is because we just had our baby like 3 months ago, and for me that is the most exciting thing in my life right now. If you are sick and tired of listening to her talk about her bf, take charge of the conversation and steer it in directions that are more comfortable for you to discuss. Sometimes in friendships you have to take the good with the bad.

Maybe she's venting and, for some weird reason, decides to trust you with this, since she thinks you're a good listener. For some reason, people think I'm a good listener or a confidante or something, so I just let my mind drift off, since half of what they're saying isn't important; they don't really care if I'm listening, they just want to get it off their chest.

if the girl is unattractive like you say maybe she is so happy with her boyfriend (who probably get hard if she is unattractive)and want's to talk about him all the time....anf if you don't like it try to chance the subject...but don't tell her you don't like it when she is talking all the time about her boyfriend cos she would fell not sa well and probably get mad...:)

well since u said she was unattractve (thats not nice by the way) maybe she is telling you to get her self-esteem up or something. but change the subject to something that her boyfriend wouldnt like so he cant pop into the middle of the sentences.

Well, maybe she is trying to make you jealous that she has a boyfriend. Or better yet, she may be so happy about it that she wants her friends to know about it

They may be trying to make you jealous, or may just like to talk about themselves. Don't worry about it too much. If it's really bothering you, however, just confront her politely and tell her you're not really interested in that conversation.
