I'm not religious but i don't mind when Bush or his peers talk about God and such. The democrats on the other hand, scream and yell about how religion should not interfere with politics but then, like you said, come election time they are the best little church boys and girls.

I'd like for Stephanie to explain why she says its so sad that religion factors into who people vote for. Let me put it to you this way.....Religious people are just like everyone else in the sense that they will vote for a candidate who represents their own beliefs; who they are as people. In this country, we run on a representive government and people, religious or not, are going to vote according to what they believe. And the truth is for many people, religion shapes what people believe about responsibility, morals, laws, and certain behaviors by other people. Just like you would vote for a government to represent what you believe. So, will religious people. It's not sad. It's a fact of democracy. And to answer the original question; religious people, both protestants and catholics make up the voting majority in this country. That is how Bush was elected and re-elected..the religious majority. Now, the democrats know this is true and they are playing the religious card in hopes of getting the attention of the religious majority in this country. Democrats are notoriously known for trying to stifle one's beliefs through court rulings. Now, they want to do it from the executive mansion since they control Congress, too.

All they have to do to gain a little superficial support during elections is to invoke the name a few times and grit their teeth.
Democrats as a whole are starting to embrace far-left philosophy with things like the gay agenda and abortion. I dont think many of them honestly care what God thinks or the Bible says about such matters.

"Government, in its current form, exists solely to preserve its existence and expand its power. Government of the politicians, by the politicians, for the politicians."
That's one the most concise and true things I have ever read. Thank you.
As to the original question:
Hillary (just like ANY other politician, Democrat OR Republican) is trying to gain votes. Republicans use religion a base for their platforms all the time; Democrats do the same thing, to lesser degree. If you want to know the truth of it, just read what I quoted above, from a another contibutor.

Because it works. Politics isn't about principle, or truth. It's about getting elected and hording power.
Government, in its current form, exists solely to preserve its existence and expand its power. Government of the politicians, by the politicians, for the politicians.

They just want to steal the votes of left leaning conservatives that might otherwise vote independent. Once she's in office she'll ban the Bible as "hate speech".
