Excellent reading...Jordan has a tendency to be long-winded, but you fall quite literally into his fully-drawn world. It is a very long series (eleven books right now, though he says the next will be the last), but it is one of the most engrossing and deep fantasy series you will find. The characters become like old friends (at times, very infuriating old friends). Highly suggested. My nearest comparison might be Tad Williams' Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series or Tolkien.

I've written reviews on some of the best fantasy to be found at my website. You can find them at http://www.tolkien-online.com/fantasy-reading-suggestions.html

They're very good. There are many different characters and subplots but still amazing. The closest series I could think of was The Lord of the Rings by Tolkien.

It is a good series but it requires a significant investment to keep track of the action, characters, things and ideas. Think of it as Tolkien on steroids.

They aren't that good. The series is a big Hollywood-ised Lord of the Rings ripoff in many ways, and full of clichés. But they're entertaining if you don't mind his longwinded style (I like it most of the time, it's the characters that get on my nerves.)

They are AWESOME books. they're kindof like a song of ice and fire series (Game of Thrones, Feast for Crows), but a song of ice and fire is a little more...adult in its description. Otherwise the wheel of time series is unrivaled in quality and quantity.

Maybe also think of them as D&D-ish?
A Very good read. Addicting from the first book!
