You swim in a pool yeah? There is Cl in there also, as well as a minute amount in the water you drink. It depends on the molarity of the Cl and the amount of it.

Chloride ion in water is not harmful. As a "conjugate base," it is so weak you don't have to worry. Cooks sometimes add a little salt to water in pans to cook things. Of course a big excess of salt in water would be toxic. As Paracelsus puts it, "Poison is in the dose."

Cl is the one of the best known disinfectants so in pools, in effluents, in drinking water it exists in small amounts but untill a certain extend.

it is not a very desired think in water though its taste is not good for drinkin water. so some other disinfection methods have been investigated such as ozonation.

Not in the ammounts used by water treatment plants.
It is also bound with another chemical after it does it's job of desinfection.
