Hi, log question...

log(sub)2 [x(x-2)/(x-3)] = 3

Do I first multiply x with x and -2 and then divide with (x-3).
How did you get your answer?

Gracias!

In the following, "log" means log to base 2.
log [ x.(x - 2) / (x - 3)] = 3
x.(x - 2) / (x - 3) = 2³
x.(x - 2) = 8.(x - 3)
x² - 2x = 8x - 24
x² - 10x + 24 = 0
(x - 6).(x - 4) = 0
x = 4 , x = 6
De nada!

log2 of [x(x-2)/(x-3)]=3

therefore; x(x-2)/(x-3)=3^2
x(x-2)/(x-3)=9
x(x-2)=9(x-3)
x^2 - 2x = 9x - 27
x^2-11x+27=0

x=(11+(square_root(13)))/2 or x=(11-(square_root(13)))/2
