I catch my boyfriend dancing in the mirror all the time but he never shows me how he dances and we've been together for 3 years.

Everyone loves to dance whether figuratively or literally. Most people lack the self confidence to publically display their exuberance....
Come out of the closet and onto the dance floor! Go Aurthur Murray School of Dance Instructors!!!!.....Go forth and multiply-liberate all the secret dancers of the world!. (and then get out of the way)

Yeah, I love to dance! It's not really a secret - I have no problem dancing at a party. Why? I enjoy physical activity, and I enjoy bringing smiles to the faces of people around me.

I know I'm not that great, but I don't dance to impress; I dance for fun. A lot of my buddies (and other random people) have commented on my dancing style. Most of the comments are good; they think it's good.

I've noticed that, though, that a lot of guys don't like to dance. When the dance starts at a party, all the ladies hit the floor, and the guys kind of linger behind a bit. More for me, I guess ;).

What type of dance do I do? I usually only dance to fast music. If you deck me out in glowsticks, I'll show off for you! Everybody seems to like my style with glowsticks, be in glowstringing or freehanding!

It has a lot to do with the differences between men and women and i dont mean physical or mental, i mean genetic.

Males usually like to know everything there is to know about something before jumping into it and freestyle dancing or hip hop doesnt have any actual steps, there is nothing for him to learn before he goes out and tries it.

I am a swing dance instructor and i can tell you once the males learn the steps, they get into the dance and are much more entusiastic.

I think they do, but they don't know it until they try. My brother was in an advanced chorus class this year where they dance and sing and now I always catch him alone making moves to a song. Guys in my dance classes try to act all cool, but when they are on stage they look so happy.

so this is how i look at it. every guy says dance is gay and retarded in the beginning, but send them to a few classes of whatever genre and they end up admitting that they enjoy it in the end. guys are just so worried about being the tough guy and they don't want to be a wuss in anyway. your boyfriend most likely enjoys to dance. give him time and he's bound to tell you eventually, just don't let him know that you know. and if he accidentally blurts it out to the world, then tell him you think it is cool. he will feel more comfortable around you. just give him time. he will come around

Some years back several of my co-workers were picking on me for dancing and trying to get me to do weight training with them, mostly freeweights. They were doing the machismo thing, which covers a lot of ego, until I pointed out they were spending hours with a metal bar in their hands, and showed them pictures of a couple of my dance partners. It only makes sense to me.

My husband does the same goofy crap.
He says it's because he doesn't think he is a very good dancer when it comes to fast songs.
He can cut loose on 2 steppin' & waltzin' though.

Me...I'm a dancin fool. I don't care what others think of my dancing (or anything else).
