other than disabling transportation because ashes will be covering most of the nations and businesses being destroyed in the West. is there anything that I can add.?

Economy? What economy? If the supervolcano in Yellowstone went off, you can say good bye to the US and hello to end!

To answer your question, it would severely cripple the economy as the grain would no longer be usable (buried under ash), as with the fruits and vegetables. The trees would die and kill the industrial economy, and the military would be left to pieces.

I don't think the economy would be an issue anymore. With a volcano that's a large and potentially destructive as that one, if it blew with the power its possible of, survival, as in finding suitable food, water, and shelter, would be the most important issue to those left alive. Economy would fall by the wayside.

Well it depends on which one you're thinking of... I mean if you're talking about the one that is Yellowstone, it would wipe out at least half this country.
