When me and my husband were being intimate last night the condom broke. Fortunately we discovered the break before he ejaculated. Condoms are our only source of birth control. My period is due to start on the 20th. I know it's probably a slim chance, but I'm just looking for reassurance. Anyone have any statistics on this?

I can't take birth control pills because I'm prone to blood clots. Having a baby would not be the end of the world or anything, not to where I'm going to get the morning after pill, just inconvenient timing. Thanks, ladybird, I think I'm handling myself just fine. Just wanted to know some scientific statistics if anyone had some!

If you're really worried, go to the doctor's and get the morning after pill. Its effective within a 72 hour period. Its just an ultra heavy dose of birth control.
But I think your chances are rather slim. Maybe you should look in the Pill or another form of birth control.

If your husband didn't ejaculate inside of you, and considering you are at the end of your ovulation phase, chances are very slim. Women ovulate 14 days prior to every period, and have 2-3 days after ovulation they are condidered being able to concieve. According to my maternal-child nursing book: 2-3 % chance of being pregnant (this is if your husband did not ejaculate inside) and 17-19% if he did.

I say it is a slim chance because by my calculations you should of ovulated somewhere around the 6th. Although if you only have a 10 day luteal phase every month then you could of ovulated on the 10th (today) which would up your chance of becoming pg.

The fact that it was before he ejaculated decreases but not eliminates your chances, there is semen in pre-ejaculation fluid. Also, it depends on the first day of your last period, and whether or not you have a regular cylce like a 28day, or 30day cycle.

There is ALWAYS a chance to get pregnant (no matter what part of your cycle you are in!). The only thing you'd need to worry about is precum but just wait it out and if you miss then test!!

Well if condoms are your only form of birth control you are being quite irresponsible, every one knows that condoms alone is not 100 %...
The chance that you are pregnant is very slim, I don´t like to preach but if you you don´t want to get pregnant use birth control and condoms.... You are an adult act like one !!!

Well although there is some sperm in the pre-ejcaulate, it's not nearly as much as when he does ejaculate, so I'd say you are probably fine.
