I have been a pc user throughout my 18 years of existence but am now faced with the decision: Dell or Apple for my brand-spankin-new college laptop. My choices have been narrowed down to these two brands due to Indiana University offering substantial student discounts. Up until a couple years ago I would have gone pc without thinking twice, but since then I have heard so many positive things about macs, so I was hoping somebody could help me out here. I will mainly be using this laptop for standard school duties, with maybe a little gaming on the side.. but mainly school duties... hopefully. Thanks in advanced for your help!

Get a Mac... you will not regret it.

Plus all the new intel-based Macs can run windows, so are in effect, both Mac and PC at the same time.

I have a Macbook pro with Windows installed on it.

I'd say it depends on what you're going to major in. Mac's are really good for digital media, desktop publishing, stuff like that. Maybe not so good for other applications. Mac's are much less virus-prone. But not everything runs on a Mac. Will you be using specific software, like drafting or engineering? Find out what OS fits your specific needs. Good luck!
