Wrong place to post this question, but you can legally leave home in most States at age 16. The problem you run into is these same States make it illegal to harbor a run-a-away. Most people don't want to risk having law enforcement show up at their door and drawing attention to them from the neighbors. Legally, you can't do anything at age 16, so what's the point in running away. It would be awful if you had to "put out" to be able to live away from home, not to mention how degrading that is. Have some respect, and leave when you're 18. It will be here before you know it, and then you will have a whole bunch of options. If you live in an abusive home, seek help from child services or an adult you can trust, because that is a whole different thing. Go to a Church if you don't have anyone else you can talk to. They have good people there that can help you or help you work through your problems, and it's free. Sorry if this is not the answer you were looking for, but I've been around people who've asked this question, and I'm just trying to be honest with you. Please weigh all your options before making any rash decisions.

You can get a legal separation from you're guardians at 16. Just keep in mind that unless youre situation is physically/mentally abusive, you shouldn't move out. As much as you think you can succeed, you won't.

No. In most states it is illegal for a minor to run away. Majority age is considered to be eighteen, so the police could very well be involved.
