Hilarious! I was brought to tears from laughter when I first heard this joke. Why doesn't anyone else laugh when I tell it? I told it to a guy that's kind of into me. He didn't laugh. You think that was a dealbreaker for him? Any guy who doesn't find that hysterical is not the guy for me.

It's not that the joke's not funny, it's just a tad on the shocking side. You're really not expecting the answer "because it was dead". I think the joke's pretty funny, but not hilarious. As for the guy, it might not have been a dealbreaker for him, but it sounds like his lack of response was a dealbreaker for you.

If you find a guy that thinks that joke is funny, What kind of guy would that be? What does that say about your tastes in men?
Buy a joke book and practice, did a 5 - 7 year old tell you that one?

I didn't laugh either, a monkey falling out of a tree because it was dead is just not funny. Was it sick, shot by poachers, think about it.

I just told it to my 15 year old son, he said it would have been funny when he was 12.

I think it was funny when I first heard it in grade 3. That was 31 years ago.

It didn't exactly make me cry with laughter but that made me laugh. xD
I think it's probably because... it's more like dry humor. And it's more of a question than a joke because there's no "real" punchline to it.

my guy friends tell those jokes billions of times and they always laugh hysterically at it
maybe he just didnt have a sense of guy humor
