I agree with you! Its a nightmare, I think they should show Friday Practice on tv aswell!
Hopefully if someone starts a petition we can see more F1 and a better quality on tv!

ITV didn't buy the rights to show F1 for the sporting aspect, its all about the Benjamins as Puffy would say!
Its still to this day staggers and angers me beyond belief that they had the sheer stupidity and idiocy not to show the first US GP in 10+ years live (a race which was a cracker) but until 11pm in the evening. After the importance of Corrie and Where the Heart Is. . .
I hate to say it but the BBC did what they did best when they had it, showed the race, interview, commentary and Five Live broadcast.
Thanks Bernie!!!

Pmsl... yeah I hear what you're saying. To be fair though they did say on Sunday that Vettel was their driver of the day this time when he crossed the line (or did they change their minds later !!). Brundle always has us in stitches here :) Webber, Coultard, and of course, the never-camera-shy Mr Button are usually the only ones that will chat to him lol. It's always "oh there's Alonso....... Fernando, Fernando, can we chat......... oh he must be feeling too warm he's wandered off into the shade" !!!!! NO Martin, he's wandered off to get away from you !! lol Or the drivers suddenly start a very important animated conversation with their mechanics when they see him :) I often wonder if these commentators are actually watching the race half the time, or if they're too busy off mic discussing last night's party. It annoys me how they take so long to realise there's been an incident, for instance we'll see the yellow flag on the top of our screen and wonder why, then five minutes later the commentators notice it, wtf !!! And, how they always get the drivers wrong, it'll be like... "oh a toyota has spun off the track, it's Glock" !! and we'll all be at home screaming "No, you titheads, it's Trulli, look at the freaking helmet" !!!! (Just an example, apologies to any toyota fans) Oh, and yes, they are very boring !! Remember a few years ago Malaysia when it was raining (at least I think it was Malaysia). They spent most of the race discussing how the water runs across the track, rather than how the race was going, yawn !!!

Musicfan, you have it all wrong.
Brundle used to be Schumacher's team-mate at Benetton and thus has every right to compare the two. He has seen F1 from both sides of the fence.
Allen is complete crap - last year he was in love with Alonso, this year it's Hamilton - it drives me mad. I've never heard another commentator identify the drivers incorrectly as consistently as he does.
Steve Rider is even worse than Jim Rosenthal was. He clearly has no clue or passion about F1, and never has a decent comment to make. He should stick with Football and leave F1 to those who actually know about it.
I will concede, I have absolutely no idea why they got rid of Tony Jardine, he was an excellent analyst, whilst Blunders is horrendous. However, Rider is so boring, Blunders' blunders tend to brighten up the race build up, which, with the exception of the technical analysis, is always poor.

Think yourself lucky...here in France we didn't even get the Canadian GP live, have to stay up til after midnight for an hour of highlights. We never have live qualifying either, and we have to put up with Jacques Laffite's "opinions" as well as a permanent pro-Renault bias. Yes, James Allen is pants and yes, Brundle must have trouble getting his head through the commentary box door, but they are way better than the rubbish I have to endure here. How many ad breaks do you have there now? We have one right before the formation lap, three during the race and one that usually starts even before the 6th placed driver has crossed the line...

very very crap
although I must admit the features that they do are interesting like the one Brundle did for the Canadian GP about the pressures drivers are facing with G-Force etc in the cockpit - that kind of thing is good but the overall coverage is shite! LOL
Even Ross Brawn commented that he didnt realise how poor the coverage is for F1 until his sabattical this year because he watched a race on ITV and said it was crap lol which made me laugh hysterically
but yeah Brundle - what has he ever done? how can he comment on the relative merits of Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso and say that a 2 time world champion (very lucky one at that) is better than a 7 time world champion and just last season he was claming the F1 pecking order was -
1) Alonso
2) Kimi
3) Michael
what does he know? f-all he couldnt even get a decent drive in his time in F1 - which raises another question - how did he make it into F1?
he brags so much in his book called - working the wheel
some of you must have read it - I couldnt believe how much he goes on every other bloody word seemingly its more every other paragraph begins with - "In my tyrell in 1984....." like he drove for the best team ever when he drove for tyrell and the fact he came 5th at Interlagos in his 5th race is the best moment he remembers from his carrear in F1
Allen - I tried to like him so help me ive tried but after Montreal I hate him too - after another one of the 5 scheduled ad breaks per race that in total cost us fans 10 laps!!!! of race coverage (thats a 7th of the whole montreal race) HAHA
Massa was clearly in the same shot and ahead of Fernando and Allen and Brundle are both going "Its our bum chum Hamilton out front and f-ing walking it, 2nd is that kraut Heidfeld and third is the spanish matador alonso"
it took them a whole lap and only a replay of fernandos cockup that let massa through before they twigged Alonso was fourth and James Allen sounded like he was giving birth by the groan he gave over Alonso making another mistake at turns 1 and 2 letting massa slip by him "He is like ooh whats this AAAH AAAH Alonso Alonso come on oh no!!! Massa has slipped through and out"
its funny really
I like Ted Kravitz and Louise Goodman and Steve Rider but why did they keep Blundell??? he did better in America than he did in F1 - Tony Jardine gave a better view and analysis of each race - Blundell just states the obvious and again it raises the question - how come he became an F1 driver he was crap as well
Give the commentary jobs to Ted Kravitz and Lousie Goodman - they make a good job of presenting the BTCC why not F1??
ELLIE - WHERE AND WHEN DID BRUNDLE EVER WIN ANY GRAND PRIXS??? - ENOUGH SAID!
