My mom is 34 and had her tubes tied 9 years ago. she still gets her period but lately she has been complaining because her period has been lasting very long, ususally her period lasts 3 to five days the longest being 6 days. Now she says that her period lasts 7 to 8 days, right now she is on the 11th day of her period! whats going on? why might her period be lasting so long?

Could be a number of things but peri-menopause is probably the most likely reason. Thyroid disorders are another possible cause. The nausea and weakness is probably due to a low blood iron level--anemia. She should see her gyn to get some blood work done.

she needs to see her Dr. it may not be serious but can get that way quik if she atarts hemoraging. My mother-in-law did this back last year and she was having some female problems the Dr. did a hysterectomy and other than sending her straight into menopause she felt like a new woman. Your mom is still very young but her body is getting ready to go into all those late life changes and some women get those early she just needs to check w/ doc to make sure everything is late life and not the other
